Discover Italian wine regions!

Val Tidone region, also called Colli Piacentini or Hills of Piacenza, is one of the most known Italian wine regions. Every year the Valtidone Wine Fest brings tourists and lovers of wine up to the hills, to discover local varieties of grape, wines and typical foods.

This is already the seventh edition of the festival. It started last weekend in Bilegno di Borgonovo and will continue for all the weekends of September, through four different locations. In Bilegno di Borgonovo the producers exposed Ortrugo, a variety of grape produced only in this region, and the best wine gained a reward.

Next week, a new location!

This weekend the festival will move up the hills, to the ancient village of Ziano Piacentino. This small town (with only 2.580 inhabitants) produces a huge amount of grapes, mostly Malvasia, Bonarda, Ortrugo and Barbera. The festival in Ziano is called Sette Colli in Malvasia (Seven Hills in Malvasia) and dedicated to this precious wine. During all the weekend it will be possible to taste all the varieties of Malvasia: still, sparkling, spumante and passito, matched with degustations of typical local foods.

The Valtidone Wine Fest will continue then with two other stops: Nibbiano and Pianello Val Tidone, where we will discover the other wines of this region.
